Need Toner? You Don’t Need a Contract With ABT to Order Supplies

You don't have to be an ABT customer to order toner. Get printer and copier supplies from a local Utah team without a lease or service agreement.

Here’s a question we hear more than you’d think: “We’re not an ABT customer. Can we still buy toner from you?”

Yes. Whether your copier is under contract with another dealer, you bought your printers outright years ago, or you’ve never had a service agreement at all, you can order supplies from ABT. No lease, no service plan, and no long-term commitment required.

Below is what that looks like, plus a few things worth checking before you place your next order.

Why so many Utah offices end up stuck on supplies

Toner rarely runs out at a convenient time. It usually happens the morning a proposal is due, at month-end close, or right before a board packet goes out. That’s when a lot of offices discover their supply situation isn’t as solid as they thought:

  • The dealer who sold the machine is slow to respond, or no longer services your area.
  • The lease ended, but the machine is still running, and nobody is quite sure who supplies it now.
  • Online orders show up late, or turn out to be the wrong cartridge.
  • Big-box stores don’t stock the model you need. Production and A3 copier toner is rarely on the shelf.

If any of that sounds familiar, you don’t have to switch equipment or sign anything new to fix it. You just need a local source that picks up the phone.

Three situations, one easy answer

1. You have a contract with another provider

First, check your agreement. Many service contracts already include toner, so if yours does, you’re paying for it and should get it from that provider. If your contract covers service only, or your provider can’t deliver when you need it, ABT can supply you directly. We’ll never ask you to break an agreement to place an order.

2. You own your equipment outright

Plenty of Wasatch Front businesses run paid-off copiers and printers that still do the job. Those machines need supplies too. Tell us the make and model, or the cartridge number from your current toner, and we’ll take it from there.

3. You’ve never had a contract at all

That’s fine too. Order what you need, when you need it. If you later decide you’d like someone to keep an eye on your fleet, we can talk about that. There’s no pressure to.

What we carry

ABT offers supplies for most makes and models, including the brands we’re authorized to sell and service: Canon, HP, Xerox, Kyocera, and KIP. We supply manufacturer-approved products, and our supplies are typically priced below third-party vendors.

Bargain cartridges can be tempting, but the savings don’t always hold up. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Counterfeits are out there. Fake cartridges are packaged to look like the real thing. Manufacturers like HP publish guidance on spotting counterfeit supplies for exactly this reason.
  • A bad cartridge can cost more than the toner. Leaks and poor fusing can mean streaky prints, jams, and a service call. Warranties and service agreements can exclude damage caused by parts or supplies the provider didn’t furnish. The FTC’s guide to federal warranty law explains how that works.
  • Page yield matters more than sticker price. A cheaper cartridge that prints fewer pages isn’t cheaper. Compare cost per page, not cost per box.

Buying from a local, authorized dealer takes the guesswork out. You get the right part, from a source that stands behind it.

Tired of reordering? Let the machines tell us.

If you’d rather never think about toner again, there’s another option. With Managed Print Services, we monitor your networked devices and ship toner before you run out. Routine maintenance is included, too.

Our Toner Plus program goes a step further. It covers your devices’ toner along with routine maintenance, so nobody on your team has to track cartridge levels or place orders. You can learn more on our sustainability and programs page. Again, none of this is required to buy supplies. It’s simply there if it would make your life easier.

Local supplies, local people

ABT is Utah-owned and based in North Salt Lake, serving businesses up and down the Wasatch Front across Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, and Utah counties. When you call, you reach a local team that knows the equipment and wants to get you printing again fast.

Whether you’re a law office in Salt Lake City, a school in Davis County, a clinic in Ogden, or a contractor in Provo, ordering is simple: tell us what you’re running, and we’ll get you what you need.
